ECSS offers three Travel Grants of €600 each. This is a general Travel Grant independent from participating in the ECSS YIA competition.

Criteria

  • The applicant is not a former ECSS Travel Grant winner.
  • The applicant has successfully submitted an abstract for presentation at the 31st ECSS Annual Congress - ECSS Lausanne 2026 (Notification of acceptance on 1 April 2026) and ticked 'Yes - I wish to apply for the ECSS Travel Grant' during abstract submission.
  • The applicant has uploaded a proof of a university affiliation (in English language) of a country listed up to Lower Middle Income Countries1 from the DAC List of ODA Recipients in the ECSS Account.
  • The applicant has uploaded a proof of current residence (in English language) of a country listed up to Lower Middle Income Countries1 from the DAC List of ODA Recipients in the ECSS Account.
  • The applicant has paid the full registration fee (by 8 May 2026) before receiving the ECSS Travel Grant money.

The 31st Annual Congress of the ECSS will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland and is proudly hosted by the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
ECSS Lausanne 2026 will take place in the modern SwissTech Convention Center, which was built in 2014 and is located at the heart of the EPFL campus in Lausanne, close to the city centre.
