How do I become an ECSS Member or renew my existing membership?

To become a new member, please follow the steps to create a new member account here. Once you have set up your account, visit the secure membership page to select the membership category that applies to you.

From 2023, your ECSS Membership will automatically renew for one year at a time. This means you will no longer need to log into your ECSS Account to renew your membership. Renewals are processed in January every year. If you would like to opt out of your ECSS Membership for the following year, you will need to cancel your ECSS Membership within your ECSS Account by 30 September of the present year. After opting out, your annual ECSS Membership will continue until 31 December and will be cancelled thereafter. For more detailed information on this, please visit our updated bye-laws.

ECSS is governed by the ECSS Charter and the ECSS Bye-laws. Articles record such information as the College’s name, its registered seat and the number of members of the ECSS Boards. We are a non-profit scientific organisation devoted to the promotion and dissemination of multi-and interdisciplinary research in sport and exercise science. Founded in Nice, France in 1995, we have established ourselves as the leading sport science community in Europe, with a truly international demographic.

Membership requirements

To become an ECSS Member, you must be 18 years of age or above. ECSS Members usually hold a university-level degree in the field of sport and exercise science or its sub-disciplines.
