Volleyball is a very popular sport worldwide. Consequently injuries occurred playing volleyball are very common. However, there is no overview on the incidents, aetiology nor any insight on effective preventive measures on the incidents of volleyball injuries. And so we aimed to systematically review the available scientific evidence.

Our research showed that ankle, knee and shoulder injuries are the most common injuries in volleyball. The available studies on preventive measures against musculoskeletal injuries and your knee injuries and ankle injuries have shown to be effective.

As ankle and knee injury studies are available, studies on other volleyball specific injuries, such as shoulder injuries, should be a focus of further research as well as studies on preventive measures.
