The ECSS would like to share a selection of ECSS members' comments on the survey

I like the ECSS because...

"...the researchers in variety of fields of sports science have participated in the ECSS activities, the ECSS widely opens its door to foreign countries, and the ECSS regards the bringing up of young researchers as important."
Toshihito Katsumura, Tokyo Medical University, JPN

"...it brings together different fields of sport science and people with diverse cultures all with the same purpose: promote science and research. This non-profit organization, with a little over 15 years, has allowed the dissemination of knowledge and collaboration of researchers that would not have been possible without the numerous well organized annual meetings! Thank you ECSS!"
Elisa Gomes, Federal University of Minas Gerais, BRA

"...the ECSS has given me several opportunities for the development of my scientific career. Of course, as any participant of the annual ECSS Congress I like it because it gives us new knowledge, new contacts, great scientific and cultural moments, excellent organization and desire to come back to the ECSS congresses again and again. But in addition the ECSS estimated my research highly and with a cash prize that I won in the YIA competition I could make my dream come true - one month of the research training in one of the state-of-the-art genetics laboratories in UK. Moreover, at the ECSS Congress I met a wonderful professor which then became my scientific advisor and invited me to conduct an interesting research for my PhD course at the laboratory in Italy. Now I'm a PhD in biochemistry, a researcher interested in sports genetics, looking forward to take part in the ECSS Congress in Liverpool and find there a possibility to continue my research career. I can say that I not only like ECSS, I really LOVE it! And I appreciate deeply the work of many people who create ECSS and give warm encouragement to every junior scientist."
Anastasia Druzhevskaya, St. Petersburg Research Institute of Physical Culture, RUS

"…there is exchange of knowledge of the sports science community, access to international vacancies is given and the access is to the European Journal of Sport Sciences."
Tom Krüger, University of Potsdam, GER

"...it covers all different areas of sports science and therfore truely tries to foster interdisciplinary research."
Thorsten Sterzing, University of Beijing, CHN

"...sport science need to have a serious scientific dignity. A great and rigorous scientific society like ECSS can give an important contribution in this way."
Nicola Sponsiello, University di Camerino, ITA

"...of its cultural diversity and broad-minded nature of the members, it treated me as a scientist even in my early research career."
Ken Nosaka, Edith Cowan University, AUS

"...it opens our minds to the ever advancing world of sport science."
Chris Irwin, Griffith University, AUS

"…their unrivalled passion for supporting young researchers through the Young Investigator Award."
Ian Taylor, Loughborough University, GBR

"…it helped me to improve my knowlegde in sport science."
Basam Abdul Jabbar, Baghdad University, IRQ

"...I like to Enjoy my work, I like the Chance to argue with my colleagues, I like to be a Scientist and I like Speculating about sport sciences."
Ernesto de la Cruz Sánchenz, Universidad de Murcia, ARG

"...it is E-Enthusiastic, C-Comitted to sport science, S-Successful, S-Superb."
Waqar Naqvi, PIMS, IND

"...of the multidisciplinary approach in creating areas of mutual interests (i.e. conferences, reviews, journals, expert-groups) This is more helpful than attempts of similar associations in field of Sports Medicine, Exercise Physiology, Orthopedics, Nutrition...."
Radoje Milic, University of Ljubiljana, SLO

"...it is one of the most important events in the area of exercise science and enables exchanges of experience and important contacts."
Ricardo Aurino de Pinho, Universidade do Extremo Sul Catarinense, BRA

"…the college and their activities can keep us updated about Sport Science, even when we are with an ocean between us."
Fabrício Boscolo Del Vecchio, Federal University of Pelotas, BRA

"…it provides a unique platform for academics, students and practitioners to share knowledge, critically evaluate research and actively discuss all areas of Sport Science, Exercise and Health."
Matthew Cole, Canterbury Christ Church University, GBR

"…it provides a secure but challenging environment in which to present your work, speaking as a relatively new researcher. It brings different cultures together to discuss similar constructs from different perspectives."
Julia West, University of Worcester, GBR

"…there is a mixture of culture and research topics to be enjoyed in both the social and scientific programs of the conferences organised by them."
Marta Oliveira, Loughborough University, GBR

"…it is my light on my way to discover the knowledge."
Petros Dinas, Centre for Research and Technology Thessaly, GRE
