Movement analysis of high-performance athletes is essential for performance improvement and injury prevention. Electromyography is essential for studying and understanding muscle activation strategies during motor tasks or specific exercises. Muscles use different strategies based on the type of movement required or the conditioning environment. With traditional technologies, this study was only possible in motion analysis laboratories or in relatively small spaces. For some sports, especially water sports, it was therefore impossible to study these parameters accurately.
Cometa first with the WavePlus system and today with the new Wave X, makes the acquisition of EMG signal and movement possible in open fields and underwater. The acquisition of muscle activity is opening up unexplored study scenarios.
The workshop is dedicated to researchers who want to expand their research outside the laboratory and take their research into the field and who have a focus on water sports.
During the session, the technological solutions and possibilities will be shown. The presentation will include some practical examples of the IMU and EMG sensors in clinical and sport application. Participants could discuss the integration of the system into the research routine and try the systems with some practical acquisition.
